September 16, 2013, Pittsfield – Greylock Federal Credit Union has announced several new electronic services as part of an initiative to ramp up the Credit Union’s Anywhere Banking® online banking services. A new mobile banking App provides members faster access to do their banking on-the-go. External account transfers, also known as Account-to-Account (A2A) transfers, and Person2Person (P2P) fund transfers will give members more flexibility in how they do their banking. Also part of Anywhere Banking are a new Account Alert service and a convenient online account opening option (uOpen) for existing members. Trusteer, an advanced security software program, available for download, will protect members’ financial information and transactions. Greylock’s recently redesigned website has improved navigation, member financial wellness tools and a new feature that allows member comments and product ratings.
Greylock President, Marilyn L. Sperling said, “Greylock is committed to serving our members where they need it, when they need it and in ways that work best for them -- in person, online, or on their mobile phones. We are meeting those goals with Greylock’s Anywhere Banking and Greylock’s new electronic services.”
Greylock Federal Credit Union’s Mobile Banking App allows members to bank from anywhere using a smart phone. It combines the benefits of internet banking with the power of Android ™ and iPhone®. The App is fast, convenient and free. The App lets users check account balances, see recent activity, view transaction history, and get directions to ATMs or branch locations using GPS.
External Account Transfers, also known as Account-to-Account or A2A is a component platform of Internet Home Banking that allows the logged-in member to initiate a transfer to/from an account they own at Greylock to/from another account they own at another financial institution.
Person2Person (P2P) allows the logged-in member to initiate a transfer to/from an account they own at Greylock to/from another individual by using either their email address or cell phone number. The parties involved need not have the same bank. The recipient then acknowledges the intent of the transaction and validates the receiving account. Members might find this feature useful as a quick, convenient way to reimburse a friend for lunch, pay rent or send money to a child at college.
Trusteer Rapport Anti-Virus software is an anti-virus/browser lock down software designed to protect against the most nefarious keystroke-logging and activity capture viruses. Trusteer will work seamlessly, and should be used in addition to members’ existing internet security software. James H. Wojtaszek, Vice President Marketing and Public Relations said, “Members’ online financial security is crucial and being able to offer members a robust software application such as Trusteer is a major advantage. Trusteer is the global leader in endpoint cybercrime prevention with products designed to stop the root cause of data breaches and fraud losses - the compromise of member endpoints by advanced malware and phishing attacks.”
New GFCU Website has a slightly modified look and layout with new drop-down menus for easier navigation, integrated financial literacy tools and videos, and an all new ratings and comments feature that allows members to offer feedback about select Greylock products and services.
uOpen allows Greylock members to open additional deposit accounts through Greylock’s online banking service. Accounts can be opened as individual accounts or joint accounts and can be funded from members’ existing Greylock accounts or accounts owned at other institutions.
Account Alerts offers Greylock members automatic alerts and reminders sent via text, secure message or email. The member only has to set up Account Alerts once through online banking for all accounts, certificates, loans or reminders. Alerts and reminders are automatically triggered by criteria set by the member; an example is setting up Account Alerts to get a text message when a balance falls below $100.
